In his heart, the paramedic fought back the unthinkable: “He’s not going to survive …”

PITTSBURGH – It’s been six years since Jeff and Arlene Berg of Pittsburgh first committed to raise funds for an ambulance for Israel. But now, it’s time for a celebration.

With just an hour and a half to go before her son’s wedding, Vivian dislocated her shoulder trying to open a car door.

Fortunately for the happy couple and their families, MAGEN DAVID ADOM came to the rescue!

Maya is five and a half years old and lives in Even Yehuda, Israel. She is currently recovering from a serious illness.

During her treatment, Maya met many friendly MAGEN DAVID ADOM team members, doctors, and hospital staff members — and she announced that it was her dream to one day join MAGEN DAVID ADOM as a doctor on the ambulance!

Since Victoria Leshiner, a Jewish woman in Donetsk, Ukraine, had lived in Israel 20 years ago, when the war in Ukraine began to heat up, she escaped to Israel with two children.

During a routine ambulance shift in Tel Aviv, 15-year-old MDA youth volunteer Ido Edelheit noticed a bus loaded with dozens of children and teenagers that was stopped in the middle of the intersection [on a street in Tel Aviv] and realized that the driver was in medical distress.

Two years ago, Eyal Tzur, 51, was training for a marathon when he suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed. It was a heart attack.
