Mike Pence, former vice president of the United States, toured Magen David Adom’s National Command and Control Center in Kiryat Ono, this past weekend.
Mr. Pence met with MAGEN DAVID ADOM’s Director-General Eli Bin, senior management team, and many of the medics who served on October 7.
“I want to say thank you to all the men and women who wear the white of MDA,” Mr. Pence said. “There may be more difficult days ahead, and people will be calling you. And I can see by the resolve on your faces that you will be there with love and compassion.”
In addition, Mr. Pence heard the stories of EMTs and paramedics who live in the Negev communities and Sderot in Israel’s southern region and provided medical treatment under live rocket and gunfire in the first days of the war. He also learned about the heroism of MDA personnel who sacrificed their lives trying to save others.
Toward the end of his visit, Mr. Pence was shown an ambulance donated by Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Amit Mann, a 22-year-old paramedic who was murdered on October 7 by Hamas terrorists while treating the wounded.
During his visit to the Dispatch Center, Mr. Pence took the radio and addressed all MDA teams. “I came here to say thank you and to say that we are with you,” he announced over the radio. “The American people are with you and will be with you every day until the threat posed by the Hamas terrorists or any others is brought to an end.”
“I am deeply grateful to Mike Pence who visited us today to witness with his own eyes the activity of MAGEN DAVID ADOM‘s dispatch centers, and to hear the heroic tales of MDA’s staff and volunteers, a number of whom fell in the line of duty,” Bin said. “MAGEN DAVID ADOM will continue to act in any way required to reach any person who needs medical assistance, wherever they might be.”
Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to help save lives in Israel.
