Since two of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history occurred in Florida recently, MAGEN DAVID ADOM came to America to conduct mass casualty response training for Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe EMTs and law-enforcement officials.
“South Florida is faced with an increasing number of situations that could result in a high number of casualties,” said Gina Beato-Dominguez, a lieutenant with the Miami-Dade Police Department.
“The purpose of these ongoing seminars and drills is to prepare our first responders for a variety of situations that they might be activated for, whether it’s rescuing residents from hurricanes or providing aid to the injured during a terrorist attack.”
MAGEN DAVID ADOM has emerged as the most experienced mass-casualty response organization in the world.
Since 2000, MAGEN DAVID ADOM has provided immediate emergency medical assistance following several wars, over 1,300 terrorist attacks, and more than 15,000 rockets, mortars, and missiles fired at innocent Israeli civilians by terrorist groups in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
In the last few years, MAGEN DAVID ADOM has also conducted training events with first responders around the world, including seminars in Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, India, the Philippines, and Australia.
“Some of the procedures we do in Israel is common sense,” says Guy Caspi, MAGEN DAVID ADOM’s head of mass-casualty training. “But much of it are things we learned from having to re-think some of the protocols when we realized they didn’t work for us any more — not under the circumstances we were facing. And we got to continually refine them under real-life scenarios. We became good at responding to terrorist attacks because, unfortunately, we had a lot of practice.”
When you support MAGEN DAVID ADOM, not only are you blessing the people of Israel with life-saving emergency medical care, but you are also blessing the whole world by spreading emergency response medical training.
Your generosity is a literal fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel in Genesis 12:3 — “I will bless those who bless you . . . and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you!”
