MAGEN DAVID ADOM EMTs, paramedics, and Professor Kobi Shaham, director of the cardiac intensive care unit at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center-Ichilov and a volunteer ambulance driver, responded to a call regarding a man who suffered cardiac arrest in a public shelter in Tel Aviv during an Operation Roaring Lion missile siren.

The team performed advanced CPR, including chest compressions, ventilation, and defibrillation on the 50-year-old man. After several shocks from a defibrillator, his heart started beating again. The patient was transported to Ichilov Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Paramedic Muhammad Saeed said as soon as the siren ended, civilians in the shelter called about a man lying on the floor, unconscious. Under phone guidance from MAGEN DAVID ADOM’s dispatch center, they began CPR before the medics arrived. “We continued advanced CPR and his heart began beating again,” Saeed said.

Prof. Shaham responded to the scene in a rapid response vehicle with advanced equipment. “I encountered an unconscious 50-year-old man with no pulse who was not breathing. Together with the MDA team, we fought for his life and helped his heart beat again.”
