A well-prepared MAGEN DAVID ADOM EMT saved a baby with an EpiPen.

After a six-month-old’s first exposure to dairy triggered anaphylaxis, a severe allergy attack, her parents called MAGEN DAVID ADOM for help.

EMT Yonatan Dagia rushed to the baby’s home in Netanya on his Medicycle, where he identified symptoms of the allergic reaction and administered an EpiPen, saving the little girl’s life.

“When I arrived, I immediately saw an adorable baby girl whose suffering was impossible to miss,” recalled Dagia. “She was experiencing an acute allergy attack and I quickly treated her with an EpiPen. I always carry them with me in my MAGEN DAVID ADOM medical bag.”

The EpiPen provided epinephrine which saved the small baby’s life. After the infant’s condition stabilized, an additional paramedic team, who had arrived while Dagia was tending to the baby, brought her to the hospital for further examination and medical treatment.

“It is important to remember that it is simple to use an EpiPen and that anyone can administer one,” said Dagia.

“In a serious allergy situation like this, an EpiPen syringe is the subtle difference between a tragedy and a miracle.”
