Unfortunately, ambulances and other emergency vehicles in Israel are viewed as military like “targets of opportunity” by terrorists who open fire on passing ambulances. So, these four new MICUs have been bulletproofed to allow medical teams to safely work at scenes in high-risk areas and will protect the patients and MAGEN DAVID ADOM teams under fire.

Today, the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, alongside his wife Mrs. Michal Herzog, visited the MDA National Operations Center in Kiryat Ono. They met with the hardworking MDA paramedics, EMTs, and doctors who tirelessly respond to every medical call and need. They interacted with the MDA teams that have been operating under fire in the Western Negev Communities, learning about their brave endeavors as they risk their lives to save others.

Although seriously wounded during a terrorist shooting attack that occurred near the entrance to the City of David National Park in Jerusalem, MAGEN DAVID ADOM volunteer Nadav Wineberg, who is also an IDF officer, returned fire and managed to neutralize the terrorist despite his injuries.
